My designs are under pinned by as much gentle environmentally friendly practice as I can achieve. I operate from a position of trying to lessen the environmental impact of the flowers you consume. When I’m choosing blooms for designs my first preference is for bee friendly blooms, locally grown. However there are times where market flowers are also used where I purchase with ethical production practices in mind. This means choosing local or Australian grown flowers that have been exposed to the minimum of low environmental risk sprays where ever I can.
Another way I lessen the environmental impact of your wedding is by offering a fairly comprehensive hire range of vessels from a variety of materials. Some of these containers are made from recycled timber, some are vintage brass, or glass. Hiring minimises the need for purchasing a heap of cool stuff that you’d probably only need to use once.
I also compost waste from flowers used to help me grow herbs and other greenery I use in my designs.
Hopefully this post gives you some insight into some of my core practices here in the Woods & Bloom studio.
