The July elopement of a very sweet couple, Rhys and Amanda was featured on the Hello May blog and captures beautifully by Lover of Mine.
This secret elopement was full of laughter and smiles, quiet moments, slow glances and as much thought and carefully made personal choice as a grand scale wedding.
I get to know my brides pretty well through the design process, and love designing something unique for each and everyone of them.
Amanda and I got to know each other that little bit more than most… first meeting on a wedding we both worked on, and then coming together with some special creative talents on a styled shoot that Amanda of Peppermint Photography initiated.
From this, a friendship was built throughout quite a big year of bouncing ideas off of each other, sharing creative dreams, family happenings and tea.
I wanted to create something lush, and dark for Amanda, with colours moving from rich cream, delicate blush, to passionate reds, ending in dark chocolates. A mix of foliage added a foil for the blooms and gave this bouquet extra movement. Something with a nod to classic design but with a new edge that embodied Amanda.
